Chessboard Diagram (Magnifying Missing Data)

  • A mosaic-like diagram displaying observed frequencies while (i) keeping the size of tiles the same for all levels of each variable, and (ii) highlighting the data that are missing in the two-way source contingency table, i.e., the resulting diagram magnifies the missing data.
  • In the example below, this is shown by the Titanic data set, where no child is present in the level that represents the "Crew".
